Press Release: PROGRATOR|gatetrade becomes Evenex
The company behind the procurement solution of the Danish government as well as the digital communications of the majority of Danish companies – PROGRATOR|gatetrade – changes its name to Evenex. The name change demonstrates a new vision for the company, including a more aggressive approach to the market, and the General Manager won’t rule out possible future acquisitions.
COPENHAGEN, 17 August 2010 – Evenex emerges from the foundation of PROGRATOR|gatetrade, which has undergone a major transformation over the past nine months. The aim has been to strengthen the company’s market position and in doing so alter its identity. One of the most significant indications of the company’s development is its new name: Evenex.
At the helm of Evenex is General Manager Niels Stenfeldt, who joined the company in late 2009. He has been a key driving force in the transformation of the business from PROGRATOR|gatetrade to Evenex.
“We have been through an exciting process where we have clarified our special qualities and in particular the possibilities we possess to act more aggressively on the market. Evenex has a solid foundation of core competencies, solutions and services with a huge potential. Our new name and new market approach allows us to unleash all of these,” says Niels Stenfeldt.
“The name ‘Evenex’ signifies that we can help organisations create digital connections, manage their business and, above all, cut costs. These are key values for our clients. The name itself plays on ‘E’ for ‘electronic’, while ‘Vene’ refers to the veins of our bodies, which pump oxidized blood to the heart and nutrients through all of us. The ‘x’ stands for ‘exchange’; that is, of information. Likewise, our products seek to connect companies and organizations in an ecosystem of companies that grow by using smart, digital relations,” Mr. Stenfeldt continues.
For many years now, PROGRATOR|gatetrade has been a key provider of EDI, integration and eProcurement solutions to the Nordic countries. According to Niels Stenfeldt, the company develops and provides solutions that optimize business workflows and simplify integration and e-commerce for private and public companies alike. Its clients include Novo Nordisk, Danske Bank, Dong Energy, Dansk Supermarked, numerous C20 companies as well as a significant number of major and middle-sized companies within all lines of trade. Part of the MACH group, Evenex has a staff of 100 people in offices in Denmark, Norway and India.
“When I joined PROGRATOR|gatetrade as General Manager, many people weren’t aware of our name, even though we had a business relationship. Our clients knew who we were, but couldn’t think of our name off the top of their heads. With our new name we clearly mark the transition to the new times where our strong position will enable us to capture new markets and boost our market share in the years to come,” says Niels Stenfeldt.
The introduction of Evenex coincides with another major milestone in the history of the company, namely that on behalf of the Danish Government, the Danish Agency for Governmental Management (Økonomistyrelsen) has approved Evenex’s delivery of a new procurement and invoicing system for the Government’s institutions and their suppliers.
“The first governmental institutions have already started using the procurement and invoicing system, and the solution is currently being rolled out throughout the rest of thepublic sector. This system in particular is a decisive factor in terms of new client opportunities within the public sector, within the large sphere of private businesses, and last, but not least, with their suppliers,” Niels Stenfeldt says, and continues: “All companies and organisations in Denmark will be able to save lots of money by positioning themselves in the wake of the Danish Government’s digitalisation of purchasing and invoicing processes. This is possible because we are offering everyone access to the new solution, the major strengths of which include a potential coverage of all company suppliers, both larger and smaller ones.”
In addition, he is delighted that Evenex has closed new, attractive deals within the last few months, including a Nordic expansion of its collaboration with Telenor, as well as deals with Arbejdernes Landsbank, Bestseller and Lantmännen Unibake.
“With Evenex we have created a significant momentum, and we look towards a future where we are better prepared than ever before to achieve increased productivity, reduced costs and strengthened competitiveness for our clients,” says Niels Stenfeldt, who won’t rule out the possibility of one or more acquisitions.
